This morning singer Joseph Mayanja alias Jose Chameleon wrote a letter to the president of Uganda Yoweri Museveni requesting him to release and at the same time have a dialogue with the fellow artist who doubles as the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Sentamu Kyagulanyi alias Bobi wine who is currently in detention.
Chameleone asked the president that, “Your excellency, Our brother, Your son Bobi Wine could have gone wrong on execution of some of his ideologies. That’s a challenge. As head of state and forefather, it’s a great one too to lead us in example of forgiveness and reconciliation as that is one of the prime problems that have hindered our society. We are so unforgiving. I as a son of this nation on behalf of the slogan. “For God and my Country”. With all honour beg you the President to symbolise forgiveness in such a time. We can all wrong but better the forgiver. Mr President, You are a Father, Parent and always forgiving one.

In reply, Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze, through her social media platforms has advised the Tubonga Naawe musician to tell Museveni to leave people of this generation to take up the leadership of this country instead of torturing, beating and arresting them. Nambooze wrote:
Dear, Chameleone the singer of Kipepewo,
I have woken up this morning to find a letter to Museveni trending in the social media where you are pleading with your President to whom you sang for Tubonga naawe about Hon.Kyagulanyi.
Chameleon,in your letter you asks Museveni to forgive Hon.Kyagulanyi as a Father for his(Kyagulanyi) misdeeds. Now Chameleon can you tell me and maybe others what offence Bobi committed for which you’re seeking out the President’s mercy of forgiveness?
Chameleon,I hope you remember a singer who set fire(allegedly) to his visitor…. Of course that singer is not in prison, most probably by the mercy of the President but Kyagulanyi killed nobody….he was kidnapped from a hotel in Arua and his whereabouts are not known.
Can you please instead of asking for pardon for people who have been arrested and tortured with no clear offence, tell your President to leave Ugandans especially those belonging to your generation to enjoy their God given rights.
Chameleon Am waiting for a better letter from you to Mr.Museveni….don’t criminalise your colleague and sanitalise dictatorship by pretending that you are concerned about their fate.
