Ugandan disc jockey, Ssekitoleko Ronald Lyto popularly known as DJ Lito is on Cloud 9 after being named the Best Male African DJ in the AFRIMA Awards over the weekend.
The eighth edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) that has been running for days now in Dakar, Senegal climaxed on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
The renown record producer and media personality was the highlight for the Ugandan audience as he clinched the Best African DJ award by beating off heavy competition from four regions of the continent for his effort in the song Tick Tock by Bebe Cool, Slick Stuart and Roja.
He beat off DJ P2N (DRC), DJ Snake (Algeria), DJ Tarico and DJ Consequence (Mozambique and Nigeria), DJ Yessonia (Namibia), DJ Zihnle (South Africa), DJ Sly King (Ghana), Major League DJs (Ghana), Spinall (Nigeria), Uncle Waffles (South Africa) and Zakes Batwini (South Africa).
Accompanied on stage by his manager Nyshar Bridgette, DJ Lito hailed fellow Ugandans for the overwhelming support towards his lifetime achievement.
“I want to thank my fellow Ugandans for the overwhelming support and votes, Alahumudillillah, Allah did,” stated DJ Lito.
