Rumors claiming that Gen. Saleh had passed on flooded social media over the weekend after being sparked by National Unity Platform (NUP) Turkish-based Ugandan Vlogger Fred Lumbuye.

In one of his latest live video sessions, the vlogger Lumbuye revealed that the ‘Five Star General’ was dead though his official announcement had been maintained intimate by the government.

Appearing at his daughter daughter Esteeri Mugulwa giveaway ceremony to her boyfriend Ivan Bidna, Gen. Salim Saleh noted that he supports Lumbuye’s right to freedom of speech even when he is abusing his right to freedom of speech.

If I want Lumbuye, I can bring him tomorrow, but I have got no time for such people,” said Saleh.

The brother to the Head of State also revealed that he has pardoned Lumbuye and his company because he (Saleh) still holds a mammoth of responsibilities in the country.

I have forgiven all those that announced me dead because my job is to build the ground and I have never left the Bush,” he added.

The “toxic” vlogger was arrested in August 2021 by Turkish authorities on yet unidentified counts.

The government of Uganda revealed its position in Lumbuye’s arrest and claimed to be in plans of repatriating him back to Uganda to face the law over his repeated threats on government security.

However, this wasn’t the case as months later Lumbuye was conditionally released from the KOCAELI Foreigners’ Detention Centre in Turkey by Turkish authorities and relocated to another country.
