Ugandans collaborate in prayers for bedridden Speaker Oulanyah

Hon. Jacob Oulanyah was flown abroad in February 2022 after his health reportedly deteriorated beyond control.

He had earlier been discharged from Mulago National Referral Hospital where he had been admitted for weeks.

Rumors later indicated that Hon. Oulanyah had breathed his last but were officially declined by Vice Speaker, Rt Hon. Anita Annet Among.

Hon. Among trashed the reports as she revealed that the Speaker of Parliament was steadily recovering.

Since his installment as the Speaker of Parliament on May 2021, Hon. Oulanyah has hardly had more than two months of consistency in his work.

The Omoro County constituency legislator was first reported ill just a month after his first session, chairing the Parliament as a new speaker.

On Wednesday, March 16, 2022 rumors made rounds on social media about his worrying state again.

The news drove his family, public and fellow members of Parliament into deep panic.

Countless ‘Get Well’ messages from have since been shared on social media for Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.
