The governor was admitted after diabetes complications led to his collapse on the New Year’s Eve, a close source admits.

The source also adds that Mr. Mutebile was further referred to Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi in company of his personal doctor.

His health management is so far successful and governor Mutebile is seriously improving.

“He is old, and at that age, such complications are expected for everybody. We only pray that he makes it back healthy and strong, because the nation needs him,” he said.

Mutebile is said to have been inconsistent in the past few years due to diabetes complications and he has often been managed at Nakasero Hospital and his Kololo home.

However, the director of communications at the central bank, Charity Mugumya, says the governor is not in a dire state as its being circulated in the media.

Mugumya says that the governor is merely out of office for a scheduled health check.

It is not true that the governor is ill, and admitted in Kenya. He is simply on a scheduled health check, and that is all I can reveal, because I am not his doctor,” she said.

His personal doctor declined to comment, indicating this would be unprofessional and a violation of his patient’s rights.

News of the ailing governor has in the past few years become frequent in the media.

We wish governor a quick recovery!
