Journalists, Musicians mending relationship

By Wycliff G; Ugandan musicians and journalists are now paving a clean and smooth relationship after years of continuous clashes.

This was started commenced in a meeting held on Monday, September 27, 2021, by the Entertainment Journalists Association (EJAU) executive committee with an intention of dissolving the escalating disputes between the entertainment Journalists and musicians.

In our efforts of engaging with different state holders, today Monday 27/September 2021, The entertainment Journalists association executive committee has held a meeting with an intention of ironing out the escalating misunderstandings between the entertainment Journalists and musicians. The meeting has been held at the national theatre green room,” reads a statement by EJAU.

Musicians represented by the Uganda Musicians’ Associations (UMA) shared their grievances and any other issues they have against the journalists.

The National Theatre green room link-up also saw both parties consenting to have another meeting where this time around, it will be the Journalists tabling their grievances and issues noted against the artists.

It’s also believed that it’s here after that resolutions and ways forward shall be forged.

This comes in a season where singers such as Hanson Baliruno, OS Suuna, Naira Ali have encountered serious misunderstandings with some journalists.
