Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has summoned the managing director of Star DTV (Uganda) Ltd to present recordings and written script of Sanyuka TV’s show “Morning Express” that was aired on 27th August 2021 where Kawalya Isaac aka Kayz, Brian Waako and Ismah Olaxess made allegations about singer Omulagira Suuna.
During the show, the mentioned individuals alleged that the singer practices witchcraft and owns a shrine. They added that he is a music failure who’s full of bad luck surviving through prostitution by chewing sugar mummies.
Suuna sued Next Media Services, a parent media house for Sanyuka Tv over defamation demanding for 1billion shs damage in damages.
According to UCC, if the provided footage proves Suuna’s allegations, the media house would have violated the minimum broadcasting standards as enriched in section 31 and schedule 4 of the Uganda Communications Act.
