NUP’s LAWYERS ARRIVES IN TURKEY TO RESCUE LUMBUYE

In a twist of events after the arrest of online blogger and NUP activist Fred Kajubi Lumbuye by the Turkish government Kyadondo East legislator and shadow foreign minister Muwada Nkunyingi has arrived in Turkey to help secure the release of Lumbuye.

After an almost two weeks Lumbuye saga where the government of Uganda first confirmed his arrest and deportation to Uganda but later on ate their words after pressure exerted by the NUP leadership, Lumbuye has still languished in the gallows

However, as efforts to help him gain his freedom and asylum in the Netherlands are taking shape there was a need to boost the Turkey-based team that was being led by Mityana legislator Zaake Butebi the NUP secretariate has stealthily sneaked Muwada Nkunyingi into Turkey to help fight for their comrades’ freedom.

Nkunyingi Muwada an advocate by profession recently has been pushing the Turkish government on Lumbuye arrest.

As the fight between the government of Uganda and NUP over Lumbuye intensifies NUP has increasingly been on the winning side and there are higher chances for Lumbuye getting asylum in the Netherlands than being deported to Uganda to face a tune of 15 criminal charges that have been prepared by the Uganda police.
