A man identified as Wagulo Fazali a resident of Mbale city industrial division has been arrested on allegations of killing a witch doctor and his son. Wanelo told the Local council Chairperson that he and a friend had sold their pieces of land and gave money to the witch doctor who promised them wealth that the duo didn’t realize after the agreed time.
The suspect narrated that when they asked the witch doctor to return their money, he instead threatened to send the demons to kill them. The suspect and his friend hacked a plan and killed the witch doctor and his son on 25th May 2021 at Lelesi Budaka bridge before taking them into hiding.
The Butaleja Resident district commissioner Bayole Stanley now warns the public against such acts saying that perpetrators of the law will face its wrath.
Bayole calls for support from all recognized Religious and political leaders to join security hands sensitizing the community that hard work pays in a bid to drive away from the witchcraft mentality.
The Regional Police Commander RPC Julius Ceaser Tusingwire says his men in Bukedi South will focus on sensitizing communities against witchcraft on top of registering all herbal practitioners as a strategy to curb this witchcraft mentality.
