Entebbe Grade B Hospital stuck with body of Covid 19 victim

Entebbe Grade B hospital administrator Mr Eric Sserwanga has said the hospital is stuck with a body of a Covid 19 patient identified as Monicah Nakanjako after failure of family members coming to claiming the body 22 days after her passing.

The hospital administrator said the deceased was a walk in patient who came in alone, semi conscious on 18th June 2021, she was able to mention her name as Monica Nakanjako at the information desk before she lost consciousness and was admitted but unfortunately died on 23rd June, 2021 without ever regaining her consciousness.

Mr Sserwanga said the deceased body has since then been preserved in the hospital mortuary waiting for her relatives to claim the body in vain.

Sserwanga said despite several announcements on CBS FM, there have not been any family member who has come to claim the body leaving the hospital with no option but to bury the deceased in a public cemetery.

“As a hospital we will be forced to bury the body in the Entebbe public cemetery if no one shows up to claim the body in three days time” he said.
