Am working as a guerrilla because of the opposition from parliament – Museveni

The president of Uganda Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has claimed that he is working as a guerrilla because of the opposition from parliament.

The president addressing the ministers at kololo airstrip after they were being sworn in

While making an address during the ministers swearing in ceremony held at Kololo airstrip, the President said that it is the opposition failing him

“If it wasn’t for the opposition we would have achieved much more so therefore this cabinet…We want cohesion.” He said in part.

Museveni went on and told the newly sworn in ministers the four core principles they will follow during the term of office with were cohesion, East African integrity, Patriotism and service delivery.

*On corruption,* the President noted that he is aware of some tricks people use “you people should be careful there is no corruption that I don’t know. The problem with Ugandans is they say that I have told you but don’t report me this is the problem otherwise whatever corrupt thing you do I know.” He said

He appealed to the ministers not to accept any bribe from people seeking favours and he alluded to the biblical moses saying that like moses the westerners had seen his coming as a saviour and for that matter they proposed to offer him cows which he declined to accept.

Rampant crimes. On the issue of crimes especially on those that tried to take Gen. Katumba Wamala’s life, the President noted that the police has specially skilled people who can draw a person’s face aided by narrations of features by those who have seen the criminal and by this that will get those who tried to kill the general.

However museveni was not happy about the police  dismissing the only skilled person able to make sketches of people by those narrating how a person looks like.

The event that kicked off on Monday saw a new cabinet of 82 ministers sworn in although some did not appear due to covid among other things
