President Museveni sets tight directves as country continues to regester more deaths

Barely two weeks before president Museveni addressed the nation on June 6th this year about covid and issued directives to prevent further spread, Uganda has had a surge in the number of covid cases bringing the number of deaths so far to over 500. It was against this background that the president was forced to see tight directives to ensure the situation is contained. Below are the directives

The president has moved curfew from 9:00pm-5:000am to 7:00pm-5:00am

schools and institutions of higher learning will remain closed for 42 days

Food market vendors will remain working in condition that they sleep in  the marketplace.

Cargo and dubble cabin vehicles to carry only two people including the driver

10% staff to continue working in core government ministries and agencies.

authorities such as URA, KCCA and other authorities to close bars and entertainment places forever and cancell thier licences if found in breech of directive, fined and imprisoned.

community health workers to be vigilant and report any flue like symptoms or covid cases to health centre iii for help

kikuubo and other business centers to remain closed

boda boda and private cars to only carry luggage and patients

Entebbe Airport to remain open but ensure no new variant enters country.

However essential workers were allowed to operate and these include journalists, Agriculture, medical, security and utilities like water and electricity.
