RDC launches door to door Covid sensitization campaign.

Bundibugyo Resident District Commissioner Amos Assimwe has launched the door to door Covid-19 sensitization campaign with a call on public facilities to tightly observe the standard operating procedures (SOPs) as a way to curtail the spread of Covid-19 virus.

This comes after the country has registered high numbers of Covid-19 infections. The average number of new infections reported in Uganda has been consistently increasing for 7 days. The highest daily average reported-now at 1,445 new infections reported each day.

There have been 65,631 infections and 508 coronavirus related deaths reported in the country since the pandemic began. The Country has administered at least 806,129 doses of COVID Vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 0.9% county’s population.

Addressing the media shortly after the Launch yesterday in Ntandi Town Council, the RDC said that the sensitization campaign will target people in the urban centers across the district. He said it was better to sensitize the people than arresting them.

The RDC said that respecting the health ministry’s guidelines was every one’s responsibility.
